School time with Kaeden

Last week was Kaeden's "Special week" at his school. I was happy to get to go to Ephrata and go with him for the day. Steven's Mom also got to go for part of the time. We did a craft project with the kids. It was a 6X6 page with a flower, butterfly, sunshine & place for them to put a wallet picture on it. Here is what my sample looked like:

Then I spent Friday night visiting with all of them. Jen and Steven had Tatum & Triniti that weekend, so it was nice to see them too.

Here are some pictures from the weekend. It was a beautiful day and we played outside too. Then I came home and Mel and I worked on the bar for the basement of the beachhouse. We got it stained, and polyurethaned. I love the way it turned out. I am sure it will match the post in the basement, as we used the same stain. It might be a tad different, as the wood is a different type. Oh well, I still like it!

I haven't gotten any new pictures of Quintin, as they had been sick, so I didn't go over for awhile. However, Jared and Quintin were over a little while ago, and I got these cute pic's of Papa Mel reading "Peter Pan" to Mr. Q It was so cute, and he snuggled right in for a good story:

Here are the pictures of the bar finished & a picture of the room it will go in at the beach house. The open space in the back side to the right is going to have a small refrigerator in it, so that is why we didn't finish it like the rest of it. It looks kind of funny in the picture:

Sunrise at our house...

I haven't been doing much around here, so don't really have many new pictures. I did see a beautiful sunrise this last week and grabbed my camera. It was brilliant colors, and these pictures are straight out of my camera with no touch up at all.

Also, here are a couple of the eclipse the following night...the 20th. It was kind of cloudy, so they didn't turn out the best. You can at least see that the moon turned red through the hazy clouds.

Til later...

The beginning of the eclipse:

The red moon during the full eclipse...hazy, but still noticable:

The full moon after the eclipse. Love how the clouds gave it a halo.

Our little streaker...

Jennifer was getting ready to come to Hermiston for Tammy's mom's funeral, when she realized she felt a breeze, and that there was alittle more light in the hall than normal.. Well, here is what she found when she went to investigate.

Kailer had escaped to the front yard to play with Jazzi and explore the yard...since the snow was melting, he must have thought it was warm enough to be outside naked.

She said it didn't take a long time for him to want to come back in. She has "ALTERED" the front to protect his privacy. ha ha

Just had to share.

Until later, here is my little Kai Guy:

Winter snow in Hermiston...

Yesterday on my lunch hr I took this picture of the house...the snow was so pretty & sparkling in the sun.

Mr. Q with a big snowball for his Gramma...He did get me after I took the picture!

This was our back yard yesterday morning...a winter wonderland

This was our live Christmas tree one of the first years we lived in our house. Now it is in the front yard and looked so pretty with the snow fall on Sunday night.

Christmas...better late than never

We had a very busy Christmas season. Mel and I enjoyed spending time with Kaeden & Kailer while Jen & Steve were down for the weekend & Christmas holiday. On Saturday before Christmas I took Kaeden and Lexi to see the Chipmunk movie. They enjoyed it & it was fun for me to take them. Then Kaeden & Kai came over and we made sugar and Chocolate chip cookies for Santa Claus. While we were doing that, Jenny & Steven did some last minute shopping. It was a fun night. Then on Christmas eve Jennifer, Steven, Kaeden & Kai met us at Trinity Lutheran Evangelical Church for the candlelit service. It was very nice to have them here to go with us, and Kaeden is getting old enough to understand it. He wanted to go and did very well there. Afterwards, they came over and we had taco soup & homemade cornbread. Jared, Tammy & her family had went to Lexington to visit some of her family.
Then on Christmas morning, Mel and I went to Jared's and watched the kids have a wild time opening gifts. They all did pretty good at sharing things and opening in an orderly manner. Tammy's mom was also there, and then later in the day Aaron was there. Mel and I came home & made the turkey, then took it back over for Christmas dinner. It was so fun to watch Kai & Quintin take turns pushing each other in the tonka truck Kailer got from Santa. It started snowing early evening & started sticking. Jen and Steven made it home ok, and we were all thankful for a wonderful celebration of Jesus's birthday.
