We officially have a daughter-in-law! Welcome to the family Tammy and Aaron. The wedding was so nice. A little hurried at the end, as the pictures didn't get started when we had planned them. We missed some pictures that we wanted to get, but did get some good ones too. The night before we had a good rehearsal and then a BBQ at our house afterwards. It was crazy with alot of people here. We had a bbq before the rehearsal and then another one after, as some couldn't come over before and some didn't want to eat as late as the after time. It worked out great, and Mel did a good job cooking. It was nice to have Pam, Scott, Rob & Aimee here from Canada. It was a short visit, but better than not at all.
The wedding was so nice. Tammy was escorted down the isle by her Grandfather to the music of Shania Twain's "From this Moment". It brought tears to my eyes to watch Jared standing up there watching her walk toward him. Kaeden stood at the end of the isle prompting Tammy to walk towards the front of the church with his hand. He did great pulling Quintin and Kailer in the wagon down the isle. Great Grandpa Curt held Quin during the wedding and he did great. They had Alabama's song "That's how you fall in love" playing when they lit the unity candle & signed the marriage certificate. When the ceremony was over Jared walked over and picked up Quintin and carried him down the isle with them. I handed Quintin a sign that he held. It said "Another one bites the dust". We were going to tie it on the back of the wagon, but Kai wasn't up there and so Kaeden didn't pull the wagon back down the isle. The reception was held at the fellowship hall at the church. Jared and Tammy didn't SMASH the cake in each others faces too bad. They had their first dance to the Kenny Chesney song "Me and you". Kaeden went around and made sure everyone had bubbles to blow. The toast was done with Sparking apple cider...and when Jared threw the garter Steven was the one that ended up with it.
After the wedding we all went back to the house and we bbq'd and ate some more. Jared and Tammy relaxed in the back yard and opened their gifts. They got alot of very nice gifts. About 8:30 several of us left. I rode with Jenny, Steven, Kaeden and Kai to Lincoln City. I sat between the boys in the back seat. Kaeden and I read books, ate crackers, and played with toys. Kailer slept off and on most of the trip. Jared, Tammy & Quintin left alittle later and also went to LC. Mel stayed home until Sunday, as Steve and Paula stayed the night at our house. By the time we all got to Lincoln City and got the bed situation taken care of and got our heads on the pillows it was about 4:15 am.
We got up Sunday about 9:30 & headed to Newport, Oregon. We went to the Aquarium and saw lots of neat things. Later in the day we met Bucky, Anita and their family and went to the wax museum and to Ripley's believe it or not museum. It was too late in the day to go to the undersea gardens so we just went to The Sizzler for Fathers day dinner.
When we were done eating we headed back to LC. On the way we stopped off at the motel where Jared and Tammy were going to stay. It was "The surfrider" We took Kaeden down to the beach for the first time. He LOVED it. Him and Jen played in the surf and ran from the waves. He kept falling and Jen would pull him. She told him he wasn't a very good runner, and he told her " yes I can run, I just fall better" . How cute is that.
That night Mel and I kept Quintin for his very first night away from mommy and Daddy. He slept between us and did fine.
Before Jen and Steven left on Monday we all went down to the beach access at 26th street in Lincoln City. Kaeden, Jen and I made a sandcastle, and Kaeden, Jen and Steven all played in the water. I know they didn't want to leave, and I understand that. I was just so very thankful that they got to go and see the house Mel has been building and to enjoy natures beautiful ocean.
Well, I have rambled on and on. I hope you get the picture. And if not, I will add some to this site for you to see.
Thanks...and until next time...
