New house pictures and my fixed teeth & bruises

Things are getting better, slowely but surely. My bruises are turning green and yellow and I get my stitches out tomorrow. My mouth is still really sore, as I have alot of sores inside. Jennifer Armstrong is calling me in a prescription for some mouth rinse that she said should help. DR Spike did a wonderful job on my teeth, and here is some pic's of my teeth & bruises. You can't even tell which ones were broken.

Mel came home today for a couple of days and got to see me for the first time since I fell. He was SO SWEET...he surprised me by saying he knew I went through a hard time when he was gone and brought me a tanzanite and diamond ring. He is here until Friday. He has worked SO Haaaarrrddddd on the yard at the beach house and I am SO proud of him. Here are some of the pictures of what he has accomplished the last week.

I am headed to Jen's this weekend to help Celebrate Kaeden and Kailer's birthdays. Today is My Little Man Kaeden's 5th birthday. That doesn't hardly seem possible. I am making them Blue's Clues cakes, so will go up Friday. Kailer's 2nd birthday is September 8th.

Til later...

Where to begin...

Mel was laid off of work and is now working on the landscaping at the beach house. I went over there 2 weeks ago, and had a wonderful time playing with Jen & Steven's boys at the ocean. They had went camping all down the Oregon coast until they got to Lincoln City. It was fun to have them there, and Grandpa Mel and I got to play with them at a park and Kai even helped Grandpa "sweep" off the blocks he put in while we were playing at the D River Wayside. (They played in the shortest river in the world)

We have a paved driveway now, steps down the East side of the house. We had great help from Mel's brothers Ronald and Gary, and even help from Pam's husband Scott. We needed an engineer to help with the steps. It was great that he came all the way from Canada to help us. Him and Pam went to both of their class reunions and stopped by on their way from Roseburg to White Salmon. It was short but very nice to see them.

I will post some pictures of the house and of the grand kids.

I had a great day this last Saturday with Quintin. Him and I went shopping in the Tri-Cities and then I brought him home while Jared & Tammy went to a movie up there.
That is...a great time until I had a little accident around 6PM. Quintin was on the spiral staircase watching the neighbor mow his yard. I was taking pictures of him up there. Then when he started to come down I went to make sure he was OK. When he got close to the bottom step I thought he was going to fall, so I reached down from about 3 or 4 steps above him to grab his arm, and I lost my balance and fell into the curved rail. I hit my shoulder, chest, collarbone, neck, chin and then mouth.

I fell hard! And then the blood came. I thought I had knocked out my teeth. I got Quintin down and then I went in the house to check on what was bleeding and damaged. I was shocked at how much blood was in my mouth. Fortunately Quintin was a little trooper and just stood and watched while I tried to get it stopped. I got a rag out and kept washing it and then realized that my lip was cut in several places, and that I had chipped 2 teeth. After I got the bleeding slowed down, I looked at the clock and thought that Jared's movie should be over, so I gave him a call. He said they would come right home. He called the neighbors, David & Sally and they came over and stayed with us until Jared & Tammy got here. As soon as they got here, Jared went over and got our other neighbor, Jennifer Armstrong. She is a nurse practitioner and she checked it out. She said it did need stitched up, and was so helpful to call around to different hospitals and Dr's. The final decision was for me to head to Kadlac hospital in Richland.

Jared, Tammy & Quintin all went with me and we got up there about 9PM. I got right in to the Triage and went right from there into the ER. The Dr came in and talked to us about sewing me up. He sent a nurse in to clean out the wound, as there was A LOT of black paint from the railing in the cuts. My mouth hit the railing and took gouges out of it and scraped the paint down to bare metal! There were actual white teeth marks on the rail too. Anyway, it took her almost 2 hrs of irrigating, picking and scrubbing with a sponge to get it clean enough for them to start sewing it up. Then came stitches in 3 separate parts of my lip. The middle one had went all the way through and had the most paint in it. We finally got home about 5 minutes til 1 AM Sunday morning.

I went to the Dentist today, and Dr. Spike was my hero. He bonded my teeth and they look like new. I found out that it was actually 3 teeth that were chipped. #7, 8, & 11. We hope the funny feeling on the front one is just bruised roots, but will have to wait and see if I damaged the nerve enough to kill it.

That is my story from this weekend, and I will post pictures of the kids and how I look tomorrow. I am tired from the pain pill I took awhile ago and am headed to bed, but wanted to write this story while it was still fresh in my mind.

Til Later...
