Happy 92nd Birthday Grandma & WOW...5 generation pictures!

My Grandma Velma Smith came out from Missouri with her son, Everett & his daughter, Marie. It was so great to be able to see all of them again and for her to be able to meet the 3 Great Great Grandchildren she hasn't ever met...Kailer, Quintin & Lexus. She also got to meet Steven, Tammy & Bobbi. Some of her sister, Ganel's family also came up from the Salem area. They hadn't seen her in several years either, so we had a HUGE celebration. We were celebrating her 92nd birthday while she was here. Pam, Scott & Aimee came from Canada, Mike's family from Olympia, Jennifer, Steven & kids from Ephrata, Lance's family from Ontario, Jared's family, Mel & I, & Gene's & Jim's all from Hermiston. Every mile was worth it!

We did 5 generation pictures too. We hadn't gotten to do any since we went back to her home with Kaeden when he was 3 weeks old, & he is now 5.

I took some vacation days, and we went on over to our house in Lincoln City. Marie had never seen the Oregon Coast & it was fun to get to show them our house. We even took Grandma to the Chinook winds casino and it was her first time in a casino & to play a slot machine. It rained alot while we were there, so we got to stay in the nice comfy house with the fireplace going. Marie helped me put words on the fireplace that I bought along time ago, and gave me some decorating tips. It was a great time!

We have been getting furniture for the house and getting it put in. We still need to get a mattress set for the spare bedroom. The bed is set up, so when you see the bedspread on it...it will look funny without the mattress. I just wanted to see if it matched the room like I thought it would.

We got our dining room table set right before Thanksgiving, and Mel & I got to have our first Thanksgiving meal there. It is really beginning to look like a home, and we love it!

Since I last posted here, Jennifer found out that Kailer wasn't hardly able to see out of his left eye, and he is now wearing glasses. She wasn't expecting it at all, so was very shocked when the Dr gave her this news. She called and asked me "Mom, How in the world am I going to keep glasses on my just turned 2 year old?" He broke them 2 times in the first 3 days, but they are hanging in there. She has a second pair on order. I told her that when you are a parent "You have to learn to expect the unexpected". And I told her that hopefully he will be able to see so much better that he will want to wear them.

Mr Q broke his right thumb this last week by shutting it in their front door. Poor little guy is just like his daddy used to be...an accident waiting to happen.

I think that is most of the updates at this time.

Til later...
