More pictures...

Here are some more pictures of my life adventures.

Happy Holidays everyone!

I am up bright and early this morning, as Mel just left for the Oregon Coast. Him and Dennis were going to go down last night, but a HUGE storm kind of changed their plans. The wind gusts in Lincoln City hit 91 MPH, and several roads were closed due to falling trees. We still aren't sure exactly which route they will be able to get through on today. They are supposed to keep me updated. I guess it is a good thing that we were required to put hurricane tie down on the house when we build it.

I have had a busy time since I posted last. I have been working on Christmas cards, gifts and just spending time with my family.

On December 8th I took Kaeden to Hood River and we rode the Polar Express train to the North Pole, picked up Santa Claus and returned to Hood River. Kaeden was very good and only asked Santa for one thing. He wants a Ben 10 watch. After the ride we went to White Salmon and stayed all night with my parents. Kaeden and Great Grandpa Curt colored in a "Cars" coloring book, and then GGpa measured Kaeden on the post in their basement. Kaeden wrote his own name on the mark, and did a good job of it. We woke up to snow the next morning. It was very pretty and peaceful looking. It really got me into the Christmas spirit. Our trip home was fine.

When we got home I got busy decorating 2 cakes for my little man Quin's first birthday party. His birthday was actually on the 13th, but since Jen, Steven and the boys were down, we went ahead and celebrated it Saturday. Mel and I went over for the party, and then I stayed and watched Aaron, Kaeden, Kailer and Quintin while the kids all went and played pool. They were home by 10:30.

I went over to see Quintin on his birthday and to take some pictures of the birthday boy. He had to go to the Dr on his birthday and has a sinus infection. He got excited when I walked in the door, so that made me feel good. He is not quite walking, but will be soon. He pushes toys around but just won't let go and take off walking at this time.

Well, I need to get ready for work, so I will close this message and leave you with some new pictures.

Updated house pictures

Mel just got back from Lincoln City last night. He went down and pulled the forms off of the retaining wall. It was poured last week when we weren't there. There are some bad spots, but we will get them fixed one way or another. Mel and I are going back down there This Wednesday for Thanksgiving. It is the first Thanksgiving, since we met in 1976, that we aren't spending it with Mel's Mom. She will be in our thoughts this Thanksgiving day. I am attaching a picture of her from last Thanksgiving.

I am going to help Mel paint the great room in the basement when we are down there. I am not sure what all we will get done while there. Mel has bought the flooring for the kitchen now too, so we have that and the basement flooring purchased. I can't wait to start putting it down. Mel got all of the underlayment screwed down. Jared went down there a couple of weeks ago and helped Mel get it all laid down.

I had both of my eyelids operated on on November 10th. The Dr is trying to pull them down further. It is due to my Thyroid eye disease that they are affected. Here is a couple of pictures of what I looked like right after the surgery. I am looking much better today.

Mel and I went to the Tri-Cities today and ate at Red Lobster. It was Delicious!!! It was something that we haven't done in a long time. We are going to go out to a Thanksgiving buffet at The Flying Dutchman restaurant on the Oregon Coast on Thanksgiving day. It is going to be kind of strange going out to eat on Thanksgiving, but it will be nice to not have to cook and do dishes. Mel and I are going to hit the Factory Outlet Mall on Friday moring for the Black Friday sales. Not sure what kind of bargains we may find.

I scrapped yesterday from 12:30-Midnight at the Daisy Bucket. It was fun and I got a few pages done. I will post some of them here. Jenna Rosenberg stopped by on her way home to Othello and I gave her the scrapbook I made for her. I have been working on it for about 2 1/2 years off and on. She said she didn't want to look at it, or else she would cry. She really appreciated it. I am thankful for that.

Well, enough rambling. Here are some new pictures of the kids and things going on in our lives right now.

Here are some updated house pictures

It is finally coming together and really looking like a home. Mel has done so much! I am very proud of his accomplishments.

Quin & his boots

Pumpkin Patch time...

I can't hardly believe that it has been a month since I posted on here.

I went last weekend with Jared, Tammy, Quin, Aaron & Tyson to the pumpkin patch in Hermiston. It was a windy, cloudy day, so I didn't get many smiles from the kids. They all picked out their pumpkin after riding on the wagon out to the pumpkin patch. Quintin liked the skeleton that was on the hay bales. After we were done Jared sat Mr Q on the John Deere tractor for some pictures. That is the theme for his nursery, and he has alot of John Deere things. While he was sitting up there, he decided to start putting his boot in his mouth and bite it. He has been going barefoot all summer, and I am sure he was wondering what those things were that were on his feet.

I am going to Jen & Steven's in 2 weeks and hope to get some good pictures of the boys in the leaves. I love when the leaves start turning colors in the fall.

Since I wrote here last, Mel has went back to work. He is working on the State Penitentiary in Walla Walla, Wa. They are adding cells to it. He is working 4 10 hour days, so is still having time to go to Lincoln City to work on the house. Him and my dad went down last weekend and worked on the retaining wall. I will add some new pictures of their progress here. Mel and I are going down this Friday too. I haven't been down there since Labor Day weekend, and want to see my cabinets that were installed on the 10th of October. Mel also has most of the painting completed. He has really been busy with it.

That is about all of the new news for now. I will try to post more often...but no guarantees.

Until later...

Mel & Bama Boy aka BB

Here are a couple of pictures of Mel and Bama. In the one with Quintin, that was taken at the bbq after Tammy & Jared's wedding on June 17th, 2006. Mel always wanted the cats to learn about the kids and the kids to learn about the cats.

In Memory Of Bama Boy

In Memory of my BAMA BOY

It has been very hard for me to write about this until now...I found out when I came back from the coast after Labor Day weekend, that my siamese cat, Bama Boy had been hit and killed by a vehicle. He was down on Cooney Lane. Jared was such a big help to come help me get him and bring him home to be buried next to Drexler Jordan and Samantha in our little cemetery. I keep finding things about him that I really miss. It is hard when you don't expect it. I expected the others, as they were getting old.

From the night he came into my life he liked to suck on the mole on my neck. It was like he thought I was his mother and he would try to nurse. I guess it made him feel more comfortable here. But he continued to do it up uptil the time he died. He would also take over my pillow in the middle of the night. I would wake up with a kink in my neck with my head off of the pillow, and he would be fully stretched out on the whole thing sound asleep.

Every time I used the can opener he would come on the run, as he thought it was tuna fish. I had to let him "TRY" whatever it was that I had opened, and 9 out of 10 times he would eat it.

He loved his cat house with the scratching post on it. It is hard for me to have it in the house still, but I think it would be harder right now to go ahead and remove it from the house. Mel said he doesn't want to totally get rid of it, as he can't say for positive that he won't want to get another cat later.

The week before he died he was in the house with me and Quin. He was letting Quin totally maul him and pull his fur, and kept coming back for more. He was a good cat, and I miss him dearly.

Good bye my sweet Bama Boy.
