GETTING CLOSER~~~~~~~

Mel and I just got back from Lincoln City, where we had a VERY productive weekend. I have been on vacation for the last 4 days, & Mel took off Thursday, so we went down to the coast Wed. night. We painted, caulked, stained, put crown molding up, put trim up, put lights up, and most of all...We finally got the excavator back to the house to fill in around our retaining wall and take the dirt out of the front yard. We have been trying for 3 months to get them back. Now it is finally done, and looks great. We also had our final plumbing and electrical inspections and passed them both. Here are some pictures of the progress. There is also a picture of my monkey puzzle tree I bought last month. I have wanted one since I was in 2nd grade. When my Dad took me to Portland he would show us one, and I always thought he was making up the name of the tree. I found out later that he wasn't. Anyway, I hope I can get it to grow for me.

Mel and I also spent last weekend (Memorial day weekend) at the coast working. Our 30th wedding anniversary was May 26th, and we went out to dinner in Newport. I sat the camera up on a timer and took a pic of us with the newport bridge in the background. I will attach it here. We came home on Monday, Memorial day, and did work around this house. We burned pine needles, mowed, I cleaned and started my water fountain and worked inside some. Then on Tuesday morning, I got up bright and early on my day off and headed to Ephrata Washington to visit with Jenny, Steven, Kaeden and Kailer. It was great to see them again, and I played with the kids and had fun watching them play in the water. I came back Wed around noon and got home in time to repack and be ready to head to the coast when Mel got home. I drove all the way to Wilsonville and then Mel drove the rest of the way.

Mel and I stopped at Jared and Tammy's last weekend on our way out of town to see Tyson. He went back to his Mom on Saturday May 26th, so am not sure when we might see him again. Quintin has turned into quite the little charactor. He is so much like his daddy used to be when he was little...and we love it.

Well, I will leave you with these images...

Til later...
