Mel & I on our 30th Anniversary May 26, 2007:
Mel and I went to Lincoln City on the night of July 3rd and stayed until Saturday about 4:15. We didn't get much rest and relaxation. We got up each morning around 6:30 & worked until about 9:30 every night. We weeded almost one whole afternoon, and then worked on the retaining wall in the back yard. It is around "ivy hill". Lumbermans delivered 8 pallets of block, and there are 45 blocks on each pallet. We had to transport them from the bottom of our property to where we were doing the wall. That was quite a feat in itself.
Fortunately we took down Ronald's 4 wheeler and that helped. Each block weighs 60 lbs, so it was alot of exercise to do it. Mel had to help me when I got the pallets unloaded to the bottom rows.
We were pleased with how it turned out in the end. We still think we might do more around the top part, but just need to get it approved for occupancy for now. This next week a company is supposed to be delivering 3 loads of dirt to put in behind the wall. Then an excavator is going to come back and put in in and try to level the yard some. We will be going back down there this next weekend to do more work. We definately have "SWEAT EQUITY" in this home.
We have the paving for the driveway scheduled for August 3rd. That is another thing that has to be done before we can get approved for occupancy.
While we were gone Jared and Tammy got Quintin's hair cut for the first time. I will put some pic's of that on here. He looks like such a little man now. Jen was wanting to cut Kai's too, but didn't want it as much. She did finally trim it herself for the very first time. He looks so angelic in this pic she sent to me. Here are also some pic's from Jen, Steven, Jared and Tammy's trip to Silverwood over the weekend. Jen said they had a great time, and they camped in a tent that they bought.
Just updating this for people who are wondering what is going on in our lives at this time...and check this blog out.
Til later...

The house is looking great Vicki. I thought for sure you would tell the deer story. So glad that you and Mel are OK. Thanks for sharing all the great pixs :)
