The boys

Here are the pic's of the boys...

August updates in our life

Jen and the boys were down for a few days to get away from the rat race of the new house and getting moved. Jen hasn't been feeling well lately, and isn't sure what the problem is. I hope they get it figured out for her. Kaeden has been a big help with his brother, Kai.

Quintin has been having some problems with blood in his urine, and they are trying to get that one figured out too. I am hoping they can get that one figured out soon too. They did an ultrasound of his kidney and said it wasn't enlarged, and it doesn't reflect that he has a bladder or kidney infection. Strange.

I went to Lincoln City last weekend to help Mel with the terracing between our house and our neighbors. I will attach some pic's of it here.

I am also putting up some pictures of Kaeden and Kai that Jen had done by Tammy at 60 min photo while they were down. They turned out so cute.

This is a short update, but I suppose it is better than nothing.

Til later...

Quintin's pic

I could only download 5 pics, so here is the last one...Last but not forgotten! We are very blessed to have all of these children in our lives, and hope we can make a difference in their lives.

My pride and joys in life...

Here are some pictures of some very special kids in our lives.

More pictures as promised

It has been awhile since I got back here to post more wedding pictures. I should have done it sooner, but seem to be busy all the time. I am not positive what all I have been busy with, but it involves work, scrapbooking, kids and grandkids, husband being gone and me doing things around here. Enough of the excuses, here are more pictures...Enjoy.

More to come later

It has Happened...Happy forever after Jared & Tammy

We officially have a daughter-in-law! Welcome to the family Tammy and Aaron. The wedding was so nice. A little hurried at the end, as the pictures didn't get started when we had planned them. We missed some pictures that we wanted to get, but did get some good ones too. The night before we had a good rehearsal and then a BBQ at our house afterwards. It was crazy with alot of people here. We had a bbq before the rehearsal and then another one after, as some couldn't come over before and some didn't want to eat as late as the after time. It worked out great, and Mel did a good job cooking. It was nice to have Pam, Scott, Rob & Aimee here from Canada. It was a short visit, but better than not at all.

The wedding was so nice. Tammy was escorted down the isle by her Grandfather to the music of Shania Twain's "From this Moment". It brought tears to my eyes to watch Jared standing up there watching her walk toward him. Kaeden stood at the end of the isle prompting Tammy to walk towards the front of the church with his hand. He did great pulling Quintin and Kailer in the wagon down the isle. Great Grandpa Curt held Quin during the wedding and he did great. They had Alabama's song "That's how you fall in love" playing when they lit the unity candle & signed the marriage certificate. When the ceremony was over Jared walked over and picked up Quintin and carried him down the isle with them. I handed Quintin a sign that he held. It said "Another one bites the dust". We were going to tie it on the back of the wagon, but Kai wasn't up there and so Kaeden didn't pull the wagon back down the isle. The reception was held at the fellowship hall at the church. Jared and Tammy didn't SMASH the cake in each others faces too bad. They had their first dance to the Kenny Chesney song "Me and you". Kaeden went around and made sure everyone had bubbles to blow. The toast was done with Sparking apple cider...and when Jared threw the garter Steven was the one that ended up with it.

After the wedding we all went back to the house and we bbq'd and ate some more. Jared and Tammy relaxed in the back yard and opened their gifts. They got alot of very nice gifts. About 8:30 several of us left. I rode with Jenny, Steven, Kaeden and Kai to Lincoln City. I sat between the boys in the back seat. Kaeden and I read books, ate crackers, and played with toys. Kailer slept off and on most of the trip. Jared, Tammy & Quintin left alittle later and also went to LC. Mel stayed home until Sunday, as Steve and Paula stayed the night at our house. By the time we all got to Lincoln City and got the bed situation taken care of and got our heads on the pillows it was about 4:15 am.

We got up Sunday about 9:30 & headed to Newport, Oregon. We went to the Aquarium and saw lots of neat things. Later in the day we met Bucky, Anita and their family and went to the wax museum and to Ripley's believe it or not museum. It was too late in the day to go to the undersea gardens so we just went to The Sizzler for Fathers day dinner.

When we were done eating we headed back to LC. On the way we stopped off at the motel where Jared and Tammy were going to stay. It was "The surfrider" We took Kaeden down to the beach for the first time. He LOVED it. Him and Jen played in the surf and ran from the waves. He kept falling and Jen would pull him. She told him he wasn't a very good runner, and he told her " yes I can run, I just fall better" . How cute is that.

That night Mel and I kept Quintin for his very first night away from mommy and Daddy. He slept between us and did fine.

Before Jen and Steven left on Monday we all went down to the beach access at 26th street in Lincoln City. Kaeden, Jen and I made a sandcastle, and Kaeden, Jen and Steven all played in the water. I know they didn't want to leave, and I understand that. I was just so very thankful that they got to go and see the house Mel has been building and to enjoy natures beautiful ocean.

Well, I have rambled on and on. I hope you get the picture. And if not, I will add some to this site for you to see.

Thanks...and until next time...

Pictures

Here are some more pictures...

It has been awhile...

I have had so many things going on in my life lately...I know, not an excuse to not write. This might be short this time again, but I will eventually get time to sit down and add more.

Hmmm, let's see. Jared and Tammy's wedding is 6 days away. I have been very busy working on alot of things for it. One of the most recent things I have done is a ribbon on the handle & the bow for the back of the wagon that Quin and Kai are going to be pulled down the isle in. I will try to put a picture of it on here. I have all of the church pew bows done, the cake knife and server set done, the toasting goblets done, the Unity candles done, Kai and Quin's outfits done, the birdcage card holder done, and Tammy and her cousin, Angie came and helped me with the center pieces. Jared and Tammy helped with ribbon on the bubbles too. Also, Cassandra from the Daisy bucket helped with the pew bows. I appreciate everyones help!

I have had several sad events in my life lately. My cat, Drexler Jordan died on our door step, and Jared came and helped me bury him since Mel wasn't home. My nephew was in a car accident on Mothers day. Thankfully he is ok, and everyone else involved is out of the hospital. Then on May 12th an aunt of mine in Missouri passed away due to a massive brain hemmorage. I helped Mom and Dad get their plane tickets and car rental together for them to fly back for the funeral etc. Then a guy who I grew up with was killed in a white water rafting accident. He was my brothers best friend. Then on May 25th, my friend Cindy lost her Dad. It was 6 days after she had lost her uncle (her dad's brother) The most recent thing was a friends nephew drowned in the Umatilla River. He was 14 years old. They all were so sad and tragic. I guess it is a good thing that I had alot to do for the wedding to keep my mind occupied.

There have also been some good things happen. There was a wonderful person who came to the Daisy bucket to teach some classes and scrap with us. Her name is Ali Edwards, and she is a contributing editor for the Creating Keepsakes magazine, and does wonderful work. She brought her mom and son, Simon with her. It was a pure joy to watch him and get to know them all. I don't know if she really realizes the impact she has on people, but I think she enjoyed her time in Hermiston. I loved the 2 classes I took of hers, and learned some new things.

My little men are growing up. Kaeden is learning more every day. He knows all of his abc's and is starting to read. He loves the computer, and if Jen tells him which keys to hit, he can type me messages on MSN. And my little Kai guy has learned to crawl, and got his first 2 teeth on Mothers day weekend. He has perfected this cute little jabber that melts my heart. He is such a serious, but obervant little guy. Then last but not least, my Mr Quintin has mastered sitting up. He jabbers at times and has the sweetest smile. Him and Kai are so opposite, but get along so well.

I got to go to the beach house and help Mel over Memorial day weekend. It was our 29th anniversary, and we spent it working on the house. We had the electrical inspection while I was there, and passed it. This last week Mel had the rough in framing inspected, and it passed too...hurray! I am so very proud of all that Mel has done to the home. He never ceases to amaze me at his abilities.

Well, this has turned into a novel, but since it has been so long, I guess it was to be expected.

I will attach some pic's of the boys and also some I took today down at the nature trails in Umatilla.

Til next time...(and hopefully it will be sooner)

Wedding announcement

Easter Pictures

Beautiful Saturday

Another weekend is here. I worked today for the Annual Meeting at Umatilla Electric. It was such a nice day, that there weren't alot of people there. I am sure they were all outside enjoying the sunshine.

I went to the Daisy Bucket last night and scrapped until 12:15. It was great to see Heather visiting from South Dakota! Wish she still lived here and could come see us more often.

I worked on wedding invitations for Jared and Tammy's upcoming wedding. I got the pattern down for the one we are going to make, and sent Tammy a copy to make sure she liked it before I spent time making them all. She is going to get with me and help put them together. It has a picture of her and Jared's arms and hands. I took it and played with it on a photo editing program, and I liked the way it turned out too. I will attach a copy on here.

Tammy went to Jen's this weekend while Jared and Dennis went to the coast to help Mel finish putting the siding on the house. They got the East end finished. Now the whole house is sided. Hurray! I am not sure what Mel is going to work on next. He got the gas piping and mechanical permits signed off on Thursday. I am so proud of what he is accomplishing down there, and can't wait to get to go over there and just sit and watch the ocean and take in the sights and sounds of the coast. I am going over there over Memorial day weekend to work on the yard and other things that we want to get done.

I had a great time at my parents house for Easter. It is always so nice to see all of the family together. The weather was rainy, so they cancelled the Eastser egg hunt again at the park. It is the second year in a row that they have done that. The Easter Bunny sat in the gazebo and had pictures taken, and they just gave the kids candy for their baskets. I loved seeing Pam and Aimee, Lance, Bobbi and Lexus, Mike, Lori, Chris and Kevin! AND it goes without saying that I loved seeing Mel, my parents, Jen, Steven, Kaeden, Kai, Jared, Tammy, Quintin and Aaron too. I just love my family so much, and love spending time with them.

Well, that is about all...so, bye til later

Happy Birthday Jennifer & Happy Easter

Wow...it is almost Jennifer's 26th birthday...tomorrow, April 14th. Happy birthday to my sweet daughter. ANd it is time for our annual trek to my parents house in White Salmon, WA for Easter. It is the one time a year we get to see my brother and his family. We did get to see them 2 times last year, as we celebrated mom and dad's 50th anniversary and all got together for that. We all just seem to live our busy lives and don't make the time to do it. It sure seems to hit me more now that we lost Mel's mom. They always say it is sad that it takes something like that to make you realize what you are missing in your lives at times.

I am also very excited to see my sister, Pam and Niece, Aimee. They are coming down from Canada. I do talk to them on the phone, but that just isn't like getting to see them and visit late into the night.

We always celebrate the spring birthdays, and have a BBQ on Saturday, & color eggs, and take the kids to the park for the annual Easter egg hunt...so I know it will be lots of fun. I just LOVE being all together for the holiday.

Mel is going to come to Mom and Dad's on Saturday. Then his brother, Ronald, is going to come and pick him up Sunday and go back with him to Lincoln City to help on the house some more. He has been a big help and is also good moral support for Mel. We appreciate all that everyone has done to help us. Jared and Dennis are going over next weekend to try and help get the end siding done. That will be a big relief.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter.

Here are the pictures that didn't work the last time...

Sad week

It has been a sad week. Mel's mom passed away on Wed. March 29th. She had only been in the hospital since the previous Saturday, so thankfully she didn't suffer alot. She lived a long wonderful 91 1/2 years. We are going to Lewiston, Idaho for her funeral tomorrow. Jenny, Kaeden & Kailer are coming down tonight to go also.
They will stay with Jared and then ride up with Jared, Tammy & Quintin in their "new" van. Yep, Jared and Tammy bought a 2005 van. He was funny, as he told me "well, it is periwinkle" as he knows that is my favorite color.

Jenniferhas to take Kailer in today for his shots, and hopefully get some medicine for Thrush. Him and Jennifer both have it, and are miserable. And Kaeden was complaining that his arm is hurting. It is the same side as his "broken" thumb is, and I am wondering if they are connected some way. She said he isn't using it at all...not even to use the mouse to play games on the computer. They have been going to physical therapy for the ligament in his thumb, so not sure if this pain is a result of that injury.

I went over to Jared and Tammy's last night to take some pictures to try and work on making some wedding announcements for them. I am still not positive on what I am going to do, but will play with them and see what I can come up with. Quin was sitting in his new high chair. He looked like such a big boy. I love those big blue eyes that glimmer when he smiles. I also Love Jen's big brown eyed boys. I am so fortunate to have such cute and wonderful grandsons, and feel SO blessed.

I am still working on my craftroom, and will get it done one of these days, months or years...

Mel came home last night from Lincoln City. Last Thursday him and his brother Ronald went to Walla Walla to get the arrangements done for their mom's funeral. Then Mel went back to the coast to work on the house more.

My parents came back from Arizona on Saturday and stayed the night with me. They headed home on Sunday and it was quiet around here once again.

My sister, Pam called me for my birthday and we talked 89 minutes. Then on her birthday we talked for 111 minutes! We laughed, cried and talked. It was sad that Mel's mom passed away on Pam's birthday, but I know we can't choose the day. Then she called me today and we talked for 88 minutes. I sure love and miss her.

Here are also some pictures of the snow we had at the coast. That is very rare for the coast.

Til later...
